Tegucigalpa, July 20, 2022.- With the objective of exchanging experiences and high-level knowledge on urban development policies, smart cities and social housing resilient to climate change, the virtual workshop "Social Housing and Resilient Redevelopment in Honduras" was held on Tuesday, organized by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) and the Republic of Korea for delegates from the Honduran Social Investment Fund (FHIS) of Honduras.

CABEI's Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi, said, "Our region is vulnerable to the effects of climate change and the effects of massive urbanization, which is why we are organizing these analyses and workshops with our extra-regional member Korea in three of our founding countries to advance the promotion of resilient social housing for the well-being of families. “

During the workshop, the public institution, Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), and a Korean consulting firm expert in urban research, HAN-A Urban Research Institute, presented to the participants a broad analysis of the country's situation, highlighting the review of existing policies and strategies for urban development and social housing supply, as well as suggestions through case studies based on Korea’s experience and that of other countries. 

This workshop is being held in Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Honduras within the framework of a Korea-CABEI Partnership Single Donor Trust Fund (KTF) Non-Reimbursable Technical Cooperation, which aims to promote the adoption and use of Korean technologies and innovative solutions for activities executed by the Bank and its member countries in sectors relevant to the region's sustainability and development.
