Project information

Context:

Following ROK’s incorporation as a member country of CABEI, two separate events were planned to recognize this momentous occasion. The first event titled “1st Annual CABEI-ROK Week” was hosted in Seoul over a three-day period in October 2019. This event provided key stakeholders from CABEI and its Board of Directors with a better understanding of South Korea’s development experience and information on how to use ROK’s technical and financial cooperation instruments, as well as its sovereign concessional loan facilities. The second event was scheduled to be held in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, in 2020 but had been delayed due to the social distancing requirements stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, to appropriately mark this occasion, it was agreed to have a ceremony during the LXI Board of Governor’s Meeting in September 2021.

Main Objective:

To engage in a cultural exchange that provides a foundation upon which to strengthen strategic partnerships and cooperation with the Bank’s member countries. To do so, traditional Korean meal and a South Korean traditional performance will take place for two consecutive days during the Board of Governor’s Meeting.

Expected Outcome:

The first expected outcome of this technical cooperation is a series of events and marketing plan to promote the cultural exchange activities. The second outcome of the will be an event that features Korean cuisine and traditional entertainments at the CABEI Headquarters in Tegucigalpa in September.
