Agreement between CABEI and the Korea Infrastructure and Urban Development Corporation will boost the sector in the Central American region

Through the memorandum of understanding, the role of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) for sustainable development is to be strengthened.

Seoul, July 12 th, 2022. – With the objective of promoting investment programs and projects in the infrastructure sector in the Central American region, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) and the Korea Infrastructure and Urban Development Corporation (KIND) signed a memorandum of understanding. 

The signing of this agreement formalizes the non-exclusive collaboration framework between both entities to share information and advice on planning and implementation of policies, programs and projects that promote areas of common interest; as well as the possibility of developing joint feasibility studies, establishing master plans and exploring Korean investment opportunities in our region.  

CABEI's Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi, highlighted: "through this agreement, member countries will be able to access Korean experience in infrastructure issues, for which CABEI will coordinate joint consultation meetings, seminars, workshops and roadshows that can be organized both in Korea and in our region, and also enhance the role of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) for the sustainable development of our region.”  

KIND's mission is to actively support national and international corporations in their efforts to develop public-private partnership projects, and its scope of action envisages contributing to the improvement of quality of life and sustainable growth in partner countries.
