President Mossi receives delegation from the Korea-Honduras Parliamentary Friendship Group

The meeting reaffirms CABEI's efforts to strengthen the Republic of South Korea's relationship with the Central American region.

Tegucigalpa, January 31TH  2023 - On Monday afternoon, the Executive President of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), Dr. Dante Mossi, received a delegation from the Korea-Honduras Parliamentary Friendship Group to discuss the impact of Korea’s contribution to Honduras and the region.

President Mossi thanked the congressmen for their visit and highlighted the historic collaboration with the Bank. "We are honored to receive this distinguished delegation which symbolizes the shared friendship and cooperative values that have further united CABEI with this partner country."

Accompanied by South Korea's CABEI Director Dongjoon Kim and CABEI officials, President Mossi commented that "since Korea joined the Bank as a member country in such a short time, the impact of its contribution has had a significant impact on the region, for example with the Korea-CABEI Partnership Single Donor Trust Fund (KTF), a tool through which CABEI has promoted around 30 technical cooperation projects. The congressional delegation on their return to Korea, pledged to support all on going and future initiatives with CABEI. The delegation asked President Mossi for support in Korea’s bid for the World Expo 2030 to which President Mossi also pledged his support for this endeavor.

The KTF has recently approved technical cooperation for feasibility studies for projects such as, the modernization of the medical university campus of the National University of Honduras, Air Cargo, the Costa Rican Government Complex and a connectivity project in the Dominican Republic.

The strategic dialogue addressed topics of interest such as Korea's support for CABEI's capital increase, the opportunity to implement new programs and projects, and the promotion of regional trade.
